Responsible for UBC’s Policies on Discrimination and Harassment and Employment Equity, the Equity and Inclusion Office works to prevent discrimination and harassment on campus, to provide case management procedures for addressing concerns, to coordinate UBC’s employment and educational equity program and to provide education and training on a wide range of diversity, equity and human rights issues. An Equity Advisor is available to consult with all members of the University community in a confidential setting.
Geared towards creating a sense of belonging for Aboriginal students at UBC Okanagan. Through the Aboriginal Centre, students can access an array of services ranging from academic tutoring to peer support counselling.
Works with UBC Okanagan to eliminate structural and attitudinal barriers to students with disabilities. They provide disability-related services to UBC’s students, and assist staff and faculty with accommodating students with disabilities.
Provides advising, transition services, and programs for international students. They are available to assist with issues related to immigration, safety, health insurance, employment, and transition to UBC.
